German Emigration Center and GEOlino start fifth joint children's contest

In the new wing everything deals with the theme of immigration. However how do the recipes brought along by the immigrants actually influence the cuisine of the new home country? The German Emigration Center and the children magazine GEOlino won't beat around the bush long and invite children to create their own personal „immigration recipe".

How can typical German ingredients be combined with fares of other countries to create an original and delicious dish? Whether bratwurst-pizza or Kaiserschmarren (cut-up pancake) with prickly pear compote – there are no bounds to the imagination. The only thing that matters is that it tastes good!

The theme museum and GEOlino are looking for the best international mix-dishes in the categories cold dishes, warm dishes and sweet dishes. If you would like to participate in the contest simply send a short description of the dish, the recipe and a picture showing the cook and his dish to GEOlino in Hamburg. In a cooking contest the jury will select the winners in the respective categories. The 24 best recipes will be presented in the German Emigration Center in a special exhibition starting November 3rd, 2012. The three winning dishes can melt in the mouths of the museum guests: For the opening of the exhibition the cooking chef of the museum restaurant will personally prepare these dishes!

Delicious prizes await the most creative cooks: The three best-placed recipes can look forward to spending a weekend with their families in Bremerhaven. Also the second-placed and all others, who have cooked themselves under the best 24 can look forward to attractive prizes. All contest participants are naturally welcome to come to the festive opening of the exhibition on November 3rd.
